Eric Weinberg, MD, FAAP, serves as a Board Member of the North East Regional Urgent Care Association (NERUCA), where he brings a vital pediatric urgent care perspective to the organization’s growing work in education, public health, and advocacy. He is particularly inspired by NERUCA’s advocacy work and the real-world policy changes it has helped achieve for pediatric urgent care practices across New York and the region. Dr. Weinberg looks forward to collaborating with fellow leaders to support initiatives that strengthen evidence-based care and advance urgent care’s role within the healthcare system.
As Senior Vice President of Clinical Standards and Quality for PM Pediatric Care, Dr. Weinberg is responsible for the creation and implementation of quality, evidence-based, and practical standards of care for the largest pediatric urgent care practice in the United States. Dr. Weinberg led the first-ever Pediatric Urgent Care Fellowship, which he revised into a unique Provider Training Program that has successfully trained >200 physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. Dr. Weinberg has built >50 clinical practice pathways/guidelines tailored to pediatric urgent care, to ensure providers and staff deliver quality care in every office across the country. These are reinforced by cutting-edge quality and safety measures to ensure incorporation into daily practice. Under his leadership, PM Pediatric Care has become an established thought leader in pediatrics through the development of national standards for pediatric urgent care quality/training, and fellowship, reinforced by webinars and conferences, including the Pediatric Urgent Care Conference, which is now partnered with the UCA Convention.
Dr. Weinberg is board-certified in both Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics, and has worked in numerous pediatric emergency departments, including New York Presbyterian – Weill Cornell, Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, NYU Langone Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital Center, and Cohen Children’s Medical Center. Eric has received many teaching and leadership awards during his career, is a recognized speaker at regional and national medical conferences, and is a published author in peer-reviewed journals. He earned his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and graduated from the Schreyer Honors College at Pennsylvania State University.
An educator at heart, Dr. Weinberg is passionate about advancing pediatric urgent care education and helping make NERUCA a destination for providers seeking practical, evidence-based clinical guidance. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking his own maple syrup, skiing the ice and granular snow of the Northeast, and spending summer evenings by the firepit with family and friends.
