Markintosh Barthelemy, MD, MBA, FACEP, serves as President of NERUCA and is a co-founder of the organization. Over the past decade, he has held multiple leadership roles, including Vice President, Treasurer, and Committee Chair, helping to build the association’s governance, member value, and advocacy footprint. In 2025, his priorities include solidifying NERUCA’s organizational structure, refining internal processes, and growing the annual conference to strengthen engagement and long-term impact across the urgent care community. He is particularly passionate about advocacy and advancing the sustainability of the urgent care industry.
Outside of NERUCA, Dr. Barthelemy is an emergency medicine physician and healthcare executive. He is the co-founder of Allevate Health and has been recognized as a NJ Top Doc. His background blends clinical leadership with operational strategy, with a focus on improving access, quality, and efficiency in on-demand care.
Dr. Barthelemy holds an MD and an MBA and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP).
Beyond his professional work, he is an avid fisherman who enjoys spending time on the water with his wife and four boys.
