Luis de la Prida is a Managing Partner and Principal of The NYBB Group and NYBB Commercial Real Estate, Inc. He works closely with clients looking for an intermediary to represent them in the purchase or sale of a business or real estate. Luis’ clients include entrepreneurs, private equity groups and other financial sponsors, and lower middle-market companies with annual revenues of $5 million to $100 million. Luis represents clients across all industries, with specialties in healthcare, particularly, urgent care, and business services.
Luis is a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA) with over 30 years of successful experience advising middle market businesses and Fortune 500 companies. Luis previously founded successful management consulting and financial advisory and insurance businesses. He also spent nearly a decade on Wall Street, where he gained valuable international experience in various financial roles at J.P. Morgan and Credit Suisse First Boston.
As a former Chief Operating Officer of a medical practice, Luis also presided over a multi-million-dollar operating budget and helped acquire seven medical practices. He launched several organic initiatives that transformed the practice into a large multi-specialty medical group focused on urgent care, primary care, cardiology, neurology, and home care. Throughout his career, Luis has worked on healthcare M&A transactions of ambulatory (medical, dental, physical therapy) services, behavioral health, emergency medicine, home health, and durable medical equipment, among others. Luis has also represented clients in the manufacturing, distribution, and business services industries.
Luis is very active in the urgent care industry. He is a Board member the North East Regional Urgent Care Association, and a trustee of the Urgent Care Foundation. He was nominated twice to be a Board member of the Urgent Care Association, were he previously served on the Education Committee. In this capacity, he served as a faculty member of UCA, teaching several classes on mergers and acquisitions. He also served as a reviewer for the Journal of Urgent Care Medicine.
Luis is a national presenter and author on matters of mergers and acquisitions. His thoughts and commentary have been featured in Becker’s Hospital Review, Healthcaremanda.com, Fierce Healthcare, Rehab Management Magazine, and the Journal of Urgent Care Medicine, among others.
Luis on the Membership and Ambassador committees of the Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors (AM&AA). He co-chairs the AM&AA Long Island Chapter, which he founded.
Luis earned his MBA from New York University, where he majored in Finance and Accounting. He has an undergraduate degree in Economics and Political Science from Fordham University.
