Luis de la Prida serves as Vice President of NERUA. In his role, he focuses on expanding member engagement, increasing the cadence and quality of educational offerings (including webinars), and supporting conference growth. His priorities include strengthening collaboration among urgent care professionals and equipping centers to navigate legislative and operational challenges. By leveraging his experience in M&A and healthcare operations, he aims to support industry advocacy, promote best practices, and help members navigate growth and innovation.
Lou is Managing Partner and Principal of The NYBB Group and NYBB Commercial Real Estate, Inc. He represents entrepreneurs, private equity groups and other financial sponsors, and lower middle-market companies (typically $5M–$100M in annual revenue) in the purchase or sale of businesses and real estate. While he works across industries, he has deep specialization in healthcare, particularly urgent care, and business services.
A Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA) with 30+ years of experience, Lou previously founded successful management consulting, financial advisory, and insurance businesses. He spent nearly a decade on Wall Street in financial roles at J.P. Morgan and Credit Suisse First Boston, gaining international experience.
As Chief Operating Officer of a medical practice, he managed a multi-million-dollar operating budget, completed seven medical-practice acquisitions, and launched organic growth initiatives that scaled the organization into a multi-specialty group spanning urgent care, primary care, cardiology, neurology, and home care. He has worked on healthcare M&A across ambulatory (medical, dental, PT) services, behavioral health, emergency medicine, home health, and DME, and has also represented clients in manufacturing, distribution, and business services.
Beyond NERUCA, Lou is deeply engaged in the urgent care ecosystem: he is a trustee of the Urgent Care Foundation, was nominated twice to the Urgent Care Association (UCA) board, previously served on the UCA Education Committee, taught multiple UCA faculty courses on M&A, and has served as a reviewer for the Journal of Urgent Care Medicine (JUCM). A national presenter and author on M&A, his commentary has appeared in Becker’s Hospital Review, HealthcareM&A.com, Fierce Healthcare, Rehab Management Magazine, and JUCM, among others. He serves on the Membership and Ambassador committees of the Alliance of Mergers & Acquisitions Advisors (AM&AA) and co-chairs the AM&AA Long Island Chapter, which he founded.
Lou earned his MBA from New York University (Finance & Accounting) and a BA in Economics and Political Science from Fordham University. He holds the Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA) credential.
Outside of work, Luis is an avid salsa dancer and an enthusiastic traveler who seeks out great food and culture, often finding the nearest dance floor while on the road.
