As a member service organization, NERUCA is here to represent you and your involvement in Urgent Care Medicine in the North East. The committees of NERUCA are where the action happens. At the committee level, all members can have their voice heard. Please consider getting involved and lending your expertise to a NERUCA committee.
The education committee is charged with overseeing and guiding the content of the annual educational conference as well as searching for other educational opportunities for our members. The committee meets regularly and is chaired by Melissa Caccamo, MD, DO, MBA.
The Government Affairs committee is one of our most active. The committee, chaired by Jonathan Halpert, MD, is tasked with monitoring legislative and regulatory activity in each of our member states. They oversee lobbying activities including the planning and execution of "Days on the Hill" so the face of Urgent Care is know to our legislators. The committee also interacts with many other professional organizations such as our state medical societies and other professional organizations.
Payer Relations Committee
The Payer Relations Committee is one of our newest committees. This committee seeks to develop a database for our region on payer activities and create a "tool kit" for our members to use when dealing with payers. The lifeblood of our business is dictated by these payers, creating a better understanding of Urgent Care for them and helping members disseminate that message is key to growing our centers. This Committee is chaired by Dr. Anthony Ruvo.
The membership committee works to ensure that our members benefit from being part of NERUCA and to continue to grow NERUCA to represent all of the members of the Urgent Care community in the North East. The committee is chaired by Lynne Rosen, MBA.
The bylaws Committee ensures the proper functioning of our organization. Chaired by Dr Greg Carson and Dr John Kulin.
Strategic Partners Committee
The strategic partners committee works with our vendor companies and develops relationships that will benefit NERUCA members, as well as creating opportunities for the vendors through our conference exhibit opportunities, and marketing opportunities on our website. This committee is chaired by Peter Hotz, MBA.
