New York

Priority Issue: Limited Scope Licensure – high-priority legislation; active lobbying underway.

Update(s): Bills are active and with aligned language and primary sponsors; efforts are underway to secure co-sponsors. Lobbying will continue in the coming weeks. Grassroots advocacy will follow. We’re also monitoring developments related to the credit card payment law enacted last fall.

New Jersey

Priority Issue: Limited Scope Licensure – currently in a holding pattern.

Update(s): NERUCA is exploring a renewed legislative approach and monitoring older bills that may impact urgent care. NERUCA is awaiting feedback on legislative language, monitoring potential national movement, and exploring collaborative opportunities to support advocacy.

Connecticut

Priority Issue: Limited Scope Licensure – strategic positioning under new terminology.

Update(s): Recent advocacy efforts have included productive conversations with stakeholders including healthcare partners, policy experts, academic institutions, and industry leaders. These efforts aim to align on terminology and strategy that will support workforce development and improve timely access to care across the state.

Massachusetts

● Priority Issue: Limited Scope Licensure – progressing through regulatory path.

Update(s): Draft regulations are currently in development. Following guidance from officials, the path forward is focused on regulatory, rather than legislative, changes. NERUCA submitted a supporting memo and will continue to monitor developments closely.
