NERUCA Board of Directors

The Board Members at NERUCA are committed to ongoing support for its members and the states we serve. Our goal is to help urgent care centers across the Northeast by combining our knowledge, skill sets, key sources of information, and contacts to keep the medical community and our members up to date. The board of directors meet once a month on the fourth Thursday.

Markintosh Barthelemy, MD, MBA, FACEP

President

Dr. Markintosh Barthelemy is an emergency medicine physician, healthcare executive, entrepreneur, and advocate for the urgent care industry. He serves as President of the Northeast Regional Urgent Care Association (NERUCA). Over the past decade, Dr. Barthelemy has held several leadership positions within NERUCA, including Vice President, Treasurer, and Committee Chair. In these roles, he has helped strengthen the association's governance, expand member value, advance advocacy efforts, and grow its annual conference.

Luis de la Prida, CM&AA

Vice President

Luis de la Prida serves as Vice President of NERUCA. In his role, he focuses on expanding member engagement, increasing the cadence and quality of educational offerings (including webinars), and supporting conference growth. His priorities include strengthening collaboration among urgent care professionals and equipping centers to navigate legislative and operational challenges.

Todd Martin, MBA, FACHE

Treasurer

Todd Martin, MBA, FACHE, serves as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee for the Northeast Regional Urgent Care Association. In this role, he oversees budgeting, financial planning, resource allocation, and financial controls that support NERUCA's long-term stability and strategic objectives. Mr. Martin has been actively involved with NERUCA for more than a decade and has served as President, Vice President, Treasurer, and a member of the Board of Directors.

Robert Hargraves, MSN, MBA, RN

Secretary

Robert Hargraves serves as Secretary of the NERUCA Board of Directors, as well as a member of the Government Affairs Committee. He focuses on advancing the urgent care sector, elevating awareness of urgent care within the broader healthcare landscape and bringing operators together to strengthen the field. Current priorities include supporting X-ray limited scope licensure, lobbying with local and national government figures to discuss the advancement and future of urgent care, and reinforcing urgent care's recognition within CMS.

Sarah Alasya

Board Member & Committee Chair

Sarah Alasya currently serves on NERUCA's Board of Directors as Chair of the Strategic Partners Committee, where she leads efforts to cultivate partnerships with corporate entities and professional organizations, develop funding strategies, and enhance collaboration within the urgent care industry. Through her leadership, the committee works to provide NERUCA members with valuable resources, innovative solutions, and industry expertise while strengthening vendor relationships and driving growth opportunities for urgent care centers.

Ryan Sadlier

Board Member & Committee Chair

Ryan Sadlier serves as a Board Member of NERUCA and Chair of the Education Committee. His priorities include expanding access to high-value educational resources, attracting new members through engaging programming, and amplifying awareness of NERUCA's public health and advocacy work. He also contributes to the annual conference. Ryan is an Urgent Care Operations and Innovation Advisor and a seasoned executive and growth strategist, previously holding leadership roles at Emergence Health Holdings and CareWell.

Michael P.M. Pond, MD

Board Member & Committee Chair

Dr. Pond is an Emergency Medicine Specialist and urgent care owner/operator in Lake Placid, NY with over 37 years of experience in the medical field. Dr. Pond is a strong advocate for urgent care medicine and one of the founding members of NERUCA.

Peter Hotz, MBA

Board Member

Peter Hotz is a seasoned entrepreneur, business leader, investor and mentor who thrives on supporting emerging healthcare businesses. He has broad-based knowledge in healthcare, with experience in digital health, urgent care and retail medicine, integrated delivery systems, workplace health & wellness, ambulatory care practice management, pharmacy services, fitness & wellness, workers' compensation, and specialty managed care. He has comprehensive P&L and organizational leadership skills.

Ravinder Singh, MD

Board Member

President, Owner, and Medical Director, MedSurg Urgent Care. Dr. Singh serves on NERUCA's Board of Directors and is an active member of several committees, including Government Affairs, Public Health, and Payor Relations. Now in his second year with NERUCA, he is committed to advancing urgent care as a recognized and distinct specialty. As both a physician and entrepreneur, his vision includes establishing a dedicated fee schedule and billing codes specific to urgent care.

Rajesh Geria, MD

Board Member

Rajesh Geria is a board certified emergency physician at CityMD-Summit Health residing in East Brunswick, NJ. He has over 12 years of full-time experience across corporate and private urgent care settings. He holds clinical appointments at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Palisades Medical Center in NJ, working per diem in the Emergency Department, and is a fellowship-trained expert in point-of-care ultrasound.

Jeannie Kenkare, DO, FCUCM

Board Member

Dr. Jeannie Kenkare is a board-certified family physician, entrepreneur, and healthcare executive who has spent nearly two decades advancing the role of urgent care within the broader healthcare delivery system. She currently serves as President of Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care, one of the Northeast's leading urgent care organizations, where she is focused on expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered care through innovation, collaboration, and clinical excellence.

Jonathan S. Halpert, MD, FACEP

Committee Chair

Jonathan S. Halpert, MD, FACEP has been involved with the Northeast Regional Urgent Care Association (NERUCA) since its inception and currently serves as Chair of the Government Affairs Committee. A founding and sustaining Board member, he has held numerous leadership positions within the organization, including President (2014–2015), Vice President (2013–2014), Board member, and Committee Chair for more than a decade.

Faisal Ashraf, MD

Committee Chair

Faisal Ashraf, MD, serves as Chair of the Payor Relations Committee. A NERUCA member for 10 years and a long-time Government Affairs Committee participant, he was nominated in 2024 to re-start and lead Payor Relations in the wake of the Change Healthcare fallout. His priorities include advocating for improved reimbursement, addressing payor issues, and educating urgent care centers about IPA opportunities to strengthen members' negotiating power and advocacy voice.

John Kulin, DO, FACEP, FCUCM

Committee Chair

John Kulin has spent the past 35 years in active medical practice with the past 21 years focused on Urgent Care Medicine. He has also served in multiple entrepreneurial and leadership roles in hospital based and ambulatory medical practices as well as Clinically Integrated networks. Throughout his career his focus has been on blending exceptional patient experience with efficient clinical workflows and fiscal responsibility.

Shaun Ginter, MBA, FACHE

Immediate Past President

Shaun Ginter is the Immediate Past President of NERUCA. He continues to serve on the NERUCA Board, bringing an operator's perspective to governance, education, and industry collaboration. His broader service includes board roles with the Urgent Care Association (UCA, formerly UCAOA), SERUCA, Urgent Care Centers of New England, Inc., Urgent Care Assurance Company, Solantic LLC, US Mobile Health Exams, and Regiment Health Holdings, plus membership in the National Association of Corporate Directors.

Celina Frost, RT(R) ARRT

Board Member

Celina Frost, RT(R) ARRT, serves as a Board Member of the Northeast Regional Urgent Care Association (NERUCA), where she brings frontline expertise in clinical compliance, radiology operations, and workforce development to the organization's education and advocacy efforts. In her NERUCA role, she is focused on advancing equitable, sustainable implementation of Limited X-ray Machine Operator (LXMO) legislation to expand access to diagnostic imaging while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Eric Weinberg, MD, FAAP

Board Member

Eric Weinberg, MD, FAAP, serves as a Board Member of the Northeast Regional Urgent Care Association (NERUCA), where he brings a vital pediatric urgent care perspective to the organization's growing work in education, public health, and advocacy. He is particularly inspired by NERUCA's advocacy work and the real-world policy changes it has helped achieve for pediatric urgent care practices across New York and the region, as well as NERUCA's expanding educational webinars and conferences.
